What is carbon steel reducer?
Carbon steel reducer as the name suggests the use of carbon steel material. The main representatives are 20#, Q235, Q345, 16Mn and so on. It is mainly used for the connection between two different pipe diameters. According to the different shapes, it is divided into concentric reducer and eccentric reducer two kinds. Concentric is well understood that the center point of the circle at both ends of the pipe is called the concentric reducer in the same straight line, and the reverse is the eccentric reducer .
The process of reducing the size of the head is to put the pipe blank with the same diameter as the big end of the head into the forming die. By pressing the pipe blank along the axial direction, the metal moves along the die cavity and shrinks into shape. According to the size of the reducer, it is divided into one pressing forming or multiple pressing forming.
Allowable positive and negative deviation of carbon steel reducer：
The appearance of the carbon steel reducer should not be cracked, heavy skin. And the wall thickness should be greater than the wall thickness of the large-diameter end pipe section.
Its quality should meet the current national standard “steel butt welded seamless pipe fittings” GB/T12459-2005 provisions: The roundness of the reducer should not be greater than 1% of the outer diameter of the corresponding end, and the allowable deviation is ±3mm. The allowable deviation of reducing pipe dimensions shall comply with the provisions in Table 4.2.2-3.
Its size permissible deviation should comply with the provisions of the relevant national products: The roundness of the eccentric reducer should not be greater than 1% of the outer diameter of the corresponding end, and the allowable deviation is ±3mm. The center lines of the two ends of the concentric reducer should coincide, and the allowable deviation of the eccentricity value is ±5mm.
