What is seamless steel pipe?
The steel pipe with full round steel perforation and no weld on the surface is called seamless steel pipe. There are five common types of seamless steel pipes, which are ordinary carbon structure, high-quality carbon structure, alloy steel, stainless acid-resistant steel, and low alloy steel.
Why is it called seamless steel pipe?
Seamless pipes have no welded seams which is made of a whole piece of metal. It is manufactured by an extrusion process where it is extracted from a solid stainless steel blank and extruded into a hollow form.
Seamless steel pipes quality testing:
The delivery state of hot-rolled seamless steel pipe is generally after hot rolling heat treatment.
Firstly, after quality inspection, it is strictly hand-selected by the staff and coated with oil on the surface.This is followed by several cold drawing tests. After hot rolling, the experiment of perforation should be carried out. If the perforation is too large, it should be straightened. After straightening, it is sent to the flaw detection machinefor flaw detection test through the transmission device. Finally, it is labeled, formatted and warehoused.
