What is seamless steel pipe?
The steel pipe with full round steel perforation and no weld on the surface is called seamless steel pipe. There are five common types of seamless steel pipes, which are ordinary carbon structure, high-quality carbon structure, alloy steel, stainless acid-resistant steel, and low alloy steel.
Why is it called seamless steel pipe?
Steel pipes made of a whole piece of metal with no seams on the surface are called seamless steel pipes. According to the production method, seamless pipe is divided into hot rolled pipe, cold rolled pipe, cold drawn pipe, extrusion pipe and so on. According to the section shape, the seamless steel pipe is divided into two kinds of round and shaped. Shaped pipe has square, oval, triangle, hexagonal, melon seed, star, fin pipe and many complex shapes. The maximum diameter of the pipe is 650mm and the minimum diameter is 0.3mm. Depending on the use, there are thick wall and thin wall pipe. Seamless steel pipe is mainly used for petroleum geological drilling pipe, petrochemical cracking pipe, boiler furnace pipe, bearing pipe and high-precision structural steel pipe for automobiles, tractors and aviation.
Seamless steel pipes quality testing:
The delivery state of hot-rolled seamless steel pipe is generally delivered after hot rolled heat treatment. Firstly, after quality inspection, it is strictly hand-selected by the staff and coated with oil on the surface.This was followed by several cold drawing experiments. After hot rolling, the experiment of perforation should be carried out. If the perforation is too large, it should be straightened. After straightening, it is sent to the flaw detection machine by the transmission device for flaw detection experiment. And finally labeled, formatted and placed in the warehouse.
