Steel Pipe Fitting
What is steel pipe fitting?
Steel pipe fitting is the general name of the parts and components in the pipeline system that play the role of connection, control, deflecting, diverting, sealing and supporting.
Steel pipe fittings are pressure bearing pipe fittings. According to the different processing technology, it is divided into four categories, namely butt welded pipe fittings (divided into two kinds of weld and no weld), socket welding and threaded pipe fittings, flange pipe fittings.
Pipe fittings are the parts that connect pipes into pipes. According to the connection mode, it can be divided into socket pipe fittings, threaded pipe fittings, flange pipe fittings and welded pipe fittings. The elbow is used for the pipe to turn; The flange is a part connected between the shaft and the shaft, used for the connection between the end of the pipe; The tee pipe is used for the place where the three pipes are collected, the four-way pipe(cross pipe) is used for the place where the four pipes are collected; And the reducer pipe is used for the connection of the two pipes of different pipe diameters.
Types of steel pipe fittings
In the industry application, there are many types of steel pipe fittings used in the projects. There are several main types:
Firstly, according to the material, steel pipe fittings can be divided into carbon steel pipe fittings, stainless steel pipe fittings, alloy steel pipe fittings, forged steel pipe fittings, cast steel pipe fittings and so on.
Secondly, according to the connection method, it can be divided into: butt welding pipe fittings, threaded pipe fittings, socket welding pipe fittings, groove end pipe fittings, mechanical pipe fittings, etc.
Thirdly, according to the production process of pipe fittings, it can be divided into: board pipe fittings, control pipe fittings, welded pipe fittings, seamless pipe fittings, ERW pipe fittings, forged steel pipe fittings.
Finally, according to the shape of pipe fittings, the joint can be divided into elbows, tees, elbows, caps, elbows, crossheads, nozzle and so on.
There are also some customized pipe fittings, like the fabricated fittings, flanged pipe fittings, external or internal coated pipe fittings.
Application of steel fittings:
- Carbon steel fittings
Fittings made of carbon steel are used in pipe pipe systems that carry liquids or gases, such as oil, water, natural gas, or steam. Apart from that, carbon steel fittings are highly demanded in construction and maintenance activity in the residential construction, commercial construction, electric-power generation, petroleum refining, shipbuilding and other industrial-use sectors.
- Stainless steel fittings
Stainless steel is widely used for making pipe fittings because of the fact that it is highly resistant to oxidation and corrosion in various natural and man-made environments. Stainless steel is actually a ferrous alloy containing minimum 10% chromium. Selection of right grade of stainless steel for a particular application is really important. A range of pipe fittings like tees, unions, elbows, etc are made of stainless steel. Stainless steel fittings are usually used for household pipelines.
Why choose us to buy steel fittings?
As a leading manufacturer, distributor and exporter of steel pipes, fittings and flanges in the world. Metleader has been exporting products with big quantity to many countries and areas. Our company have been passed several certificates including ISO9001: 2008, ISO14001, OHSAS18001, CE certificate, one member of supplier system of Sinopec, and CNPC.
Steel pipe fittings are one the most common materials produced. Steel is stronger and less brittle than iron resulting in higher pressure and temperature limits. After the COVID-19, our company has resumed normal production and is ready to welcome customers from all over the world for a series of field visits. Our company has professional equipment for producing carbon steel, alloy steel, and stainless steel pipe fittings, and the quality is strictly in accordance with standards.
